- Details: This beautiful folding hand fan, the leaf features a serene Oriental landscape image of a lake, mountains and a man on a boat. This style fan is known as a Cockade Fan, it has a pinwheel shaped when opened and folds flat for easy storage. This may be rice paper, it is very stiff, but we are not experts. The handle is black metal, both are in very good shape. It is marked with Oriental characters and "Made in the People's Republic of China". Fans have been around since Roman times but these hand held - folding fans were introduced in the West during the 17th Century, and quickly became popular. This cockade style was popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today they are highly collectible, perfect for an outdoor summer get-together.

- Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. There is no discoloration, tears, or any other issues noted on the paper. The handle is showing wear and small bit of corrosion.
